I was unaware of the term mashup with Flickr until completing an activity in 23 Things. I can see many possibilities for students in particular to use mashups.

The easiest step to lifelong learning for me is to teach or mentor someone because I have taught school for 32 years. Perhaps the most difficult step for me is to consistently have confidence in myself as a competent and effective learner.
